30 Words in 30 Days - Spanish for Midwives and Doulas: Day 6 - La Placenta
(via katiohead)
My friend Perez, who runs the site Radical Doula is trying to raise funds to create a guidebook for radical doulas. If you can spare a few bucks, please consider donating. They’re very close to their goal!
Please please please feel free to submit anything you’d like to see on Fuck Yeah Midwives!
I’m happy to publish pretty much anything related to pregnancy, birth, babies, midwifery, doulas, etc. I’d love to have birth stories, featured midwives, etc.
I’m happy to report that my niece made it out of the NICU. She will have longterm challenges, but she’s home safe with her parents.
My niece was born on Friday morning, and she wasn’t breathing. Totally normal labor & unmedicated. Perfect homebirth candidate, though she was born in a hospital. I keep thinking what would I have done if I were her midwife? She has hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. Still in NICU, and will be for awhile.
Please include her & our family in your thoughts and prayers.
“We’re not trying to bring any sick babies into the world.”

Canada, one of the country’s leading infertility groups
This is repugnant.

Click to see a picture of a face presentation. It is pretty unusual to see a picture like this. It’s a pretty intimate (translation: in your face) view so if you would prefer not to see a baby on her way out of a vagina, keep on scrolling through your feed :)
